Purpose The Preventative Maintenance Engineering Team is responsible for ensuring that all systems are constantly enhanced and upgraded with latest firmware/software from our technical vendors. The firmware/software upgrades will service Interactive’s cloud and managed services customers through scheduled preventative maintenance engineering activities, these continual upgrades will be performed to ensure customer infrastructure is compliant and meets vendor best practice standards. This position will focus on the following technology sets:
- VMware, vSphere vCenter, NSX, vCloud Director (N-2), ESXi Hosts
- Cisco UCS (Infrastructure and Servers)
- Cisco Supervisor
- Zerto
This role ensures that all systems are maintained and kept up to date with firmware and upgrades; thus preventing issues before they arise. You will have access to experienced engineers, and you will be required to work a night shift rotational roster, which includes predominantly night shifts for customer changes. This role will play a critical role in maintaining systems that are best of breed.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Key Activities
Maintain software and firmware at N-1 or as directed.
Implement system changes via Dev/Test.
Complete all Incident Reports: 2 day maximum.
Ensure system security is never compromised
Customer Experience
Work closely with all CMS teams and maintain strong collaborative relationships with all internal stakeholders.
All standard operating procedures are adhered to, ensuring the customer experience is front of mind.
Manage and resolve issues within agreed SLA’s.
Policies, Process and Procedure
Execute work within Interactive and CMS policies and procedures including change, incident, problem.
Work with the various platform services teams to ensure a successful customer outcome.
Advise management of any identified risks to systems availability, performance, reliability and security.
Ensure outstanding tasks are handed over to other team’s post shift.
Actively manage all technical aspects of the systems.

Implementation, maintenance, enhancement and support of new and existing server infrastructure, environments and solutions;
Monitor, manage and enhance the availability, capacity and performance of infrastructure;
Accurately maintain and follow all configuration, process and service documentation:
Work in a planned shift rotation in accordance with customer requirements
Continuous improvement
Collaborate with the team in identifying new technology initiatives, processes, standards and upgrades to production environments;
Assist with ensuring the operational readiness of new technology releases into production;
Drive opportunities for capability innovation and service quality improvement
Experience / Skills / Knowledge:
Strong communication and documentation skills
Support experience with significantly sized user base (>2000 users).
Working knowledge of monitoring platforms.
Working knowledge in change, incident and problem configuration management, such as ITIL
